My name is Katie Campione, and I am the owner/sole contributor for Unfashioned.

Currently I am a second-year journalism major at the University of Florida with a passion for writing and fashion. I am a lover of trend-setting outfits, the color purple and coffee. Always coffee.

I’m a philanthropist at heart. My passion for helping those who need it most has translated into my studies in nonprofit organizational leadership. I want to make this world a better place through the field of communications, and I’m figuring out how to do that one step at a time.

My love for fashion is long-standing, but my desire to write about fashion began very recently. It wasn’t until I became a student at the University of Florida that I discovered the possibility of integrating my two passions into one beautiful profession. If I’ve learned anything in the past year, it’s that fashion and beauty are all about risk. Trends begin as single people going against the grain before ever developing into must-haves.

If fashion holds the power to influence significant trends in our history, we should be using that power for good. It’s not just important to look good, it’s about staying healthy and ethical while doing it. I want to find out how we can use fashion to impact the world positively and incite change. That starts with ensuring it isn’t impacting the world negatively.
